Homicide:
Maureen Farley
17 YOA
Cedar Rapids, IA
September 24, 1971

On Sept. 20, 1971, 17-year-old Maureen (Brubaker) Farley failed to show up for her job as a waitress. On Sept. 25, two young boys hunting in a secluded wooded area near the southwest edge of Cedar Rapids found her body atop the trunk lid of an abandoned vehicle in a wooded ravine. Officials stated she had been dead about 7 days, and theorized her body had been thrown from a passing vehicle and crashed through heavy vegetation onto the car trunk. Cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
