Homicide:
Evelyn Miller
5 YOA
Floyd, Iowa
Floyd County
July 1, 2005

Evelyn was reported missing in the early morning hours of July 1, 2005, from an apartment south of Floyd that her mother, Noel Miller, shared with her fiance, Casey Frederiksen.

Frederiksen was at home with Evelyn and two other children while Miller was working a night shift. She returned home around 6 a.m. and reported her daughter missing.

An intensive search involving more than 1,500 North Iowans was conducted during the first several days.

Evelyn’s body was found in the Cedar River, about 2 miles from her home, five days after she was reported missing.

Her death has been ruled a homicide, but details about how and exactly when she was killed have not been released.
